We are proud to announce that Dr. Cristina Hernández-Martí Pérez, of HERNÁNDEZ MARTÍ ABOGADOS, will be a speaker at the AIJA Annual Congress in Vienna 2026, contributing to a timely discussion on how we can build safer, more inclusive and future-ready cities.

Cristina will participate in Workshop 4 | “Creating Cities That Care: Applying Lessons from Vienna and Beyond to Inclusive and Safe Urban Design”.

In her contribution, Cristina will explore how a gender perspective can transform the way we think about, plan and design our cities, drawing particularly on the experience of Catalonia and Barcelona and their path towards creating more inclusive urban spaces.

Urban planning is not neutral. The way cities are designed can affect how people experience mobility, accessibility, safety, public space and everyday life. Incorporating a gender-sensitive approach to urban planning therefore becomes an important part of creating cities that respond to the diverse realities and needs of the people who inhabit them.

Cristina will bring this perspective to an international and multidisciplinary conversation alongside Dr. Claudia Brey, MRICS (keynote speaker), and fellow speakers Brogan Kerr, Jesper Linder and Tomas Rosemary.

The session is coordinated by Tomas Rosemary (Guerrero Olivos), Mats Schröder (KWR Karasek Wietrzyk Rechtsanwälte) and Margherita Stucchi (Martini Manna & Partners), with Margherita Stucchi also serving as session moderator.

At HERNÁNDEZ MARTÍ ABOGADOS, we are delighted to see Cristina contributing her expertise to this international forum.

We look forward to seeing you in Vienna!
